Bring your own local AI model.
Use a model running on your own computer from the same AIEAID chat. A local model is optional: you can start with available cloud models and add your computer later.
Connect in Settings
Sign in, open Settings → AI & local model, and follow the connection guide for Mac, Windows or Linux. Start your local model service, pair the companion with your account and wait for the connection status before selecting it in chat. The guide provides the current platform-specific commands.
What needs to stay running
Your computer, local model service and companion must be available to answer requests. AIEAID does not remotely wake a sleeping computer. The local choice stays unavailable when no paired device is connected; it is not assumed to exist.
What stays local
Inference runs on your connected device. Questions and permitted context travel to that device; returned answers and hosted chat history can still be stored in your online workspace. Local inference does not make the entire website or its history device-only.
Local and cloud choices
Choose a connected local model, available cloud models or several eligible respondents. Each cloud provider receives the context permitted for its part of the request. Pairing a model does not grant the website access to your computer’s files. Android, iPhone and Harmony connections are not currently offered.
